FAQ

Is AI-generated music allowed?

Nope.

When is the game getting released?

Playable demo in September 2026, in time for Steam Next Fest. Final release Q1 2027.

How can I get my music into the game?

Join the Discord and DM Tim. Say hi, send a Spotify link. You can also post to the artist-post-music-here channel.

If my music is accepted, what do I need to do?

Send the album cover, the song, and ideally an instrumental version if it has vocals. Sign a simple music sync license agreement. That's it. You already did the hard part (making the music).

Why do you need stems? Are you remixing my song?

No, stems are exclusively a dev tool to help with the music-game syncing process. Players will only ever hear your finished master.

Is this paid?

Yes, on a deferred basis. Syntherion is a solo indie project, not a studio, so there's no upfront payment. Instead, the agreement includes small performance bonuses tied to the game's revenue milestones.

Why should I do this?

In addition to the previous answer, and it just being darn cool, the immediate value to you is promotion. In-game, players will not only hear your music, but be presented with links to your Spotify and socials. The goal is for Syntherion players to become your fans.

How many songs do you need?

Just one during early development. If the game is gaining fast momentum on Steam with wishlists, you'll likely be asked for more.

Do I get to see my music in action before the game release?

100% yes. For cross-promotion, you'll receive at least one video of a ship ripping it up to your music.

How long does it take to get my video back?

About 2 to 3 weeks. Every single laser shot, shield bubble, etc. needs to be hand-placed, and there's already a backlog of songs.
